DCM Fantastic Felties

This week is Nat's turn to dare us over at the Daring Cardmakers.

Nat wants us to get creative with felt. You can use felt to make your own handmade embellishments, pre-made felties or even raid the accessories sale bins for something unique to add to your project!
Add Image
Here is my card (apologies for the poor lighting, I think I need to invest in a soft light box or something).

I went for quite a simple card and love how it turned out. I used my Tim Holtz die to create the vintage dress form and inked with Distress Ink to age a little more!

My choice of felt was this little white heart. I was originally looking for my 3d flower die cut but have lost it! So, I opted for a heart, as I am using this lots on my handmade Christmas decorations at the moment. The little 'smile' sentiment is from the Mini Vintage Sheets at Crafty Secrets. I added some cameo beige seam binding to the waist of the dress form.

Supplies used:
Cardstock - MME Lost & Found from the ribbon reel
Dies - Tim Holtz Sewing Room, Sizzlet Heart
Punch - Martha Stewart Scallop with 2 Dots
Ribbon - Seam binding and 18mm Natural Crochet Lace from the ribbon reel
Other - Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink

WMS #70 Pastels

Another card for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #70:

More doilies again but just on the EP paper this time! I punched two circles out and added to the centre of my pinwheels (is that what they are called, I'm never sure!). I stamped the sentiment and mini doily to the circles.

Supplies used:
Cardstock - EP Victoria Gardens
Stamps - WMS Fancy Phrases and WMS Dainty Doilies

WMS # 70

I've had a little time to catch up this week and make a few cards and play along with some challenges.

Here is my card for Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge # 70:

I went a little doily mad on this card! I stamped the large and small doilies from the WMS Dainty Doilies stamps and carefully cut around them with a craft knife. Boy did my fingers hurt after that! I added the Good Luck sentiment from WMS Fancy Phrases set.

I love these butterflies and am trying hard not to use them on all my cards at the moment.

Supplies used:
Cardstock - Echo Park Victoria Garden
Stamps - WMS Dainty Doilies, WMS Fancy Phrases and Darkroom Door Butterflies from the ribbon reel

TRR #13 Pretty Pastel Flowers

This week at The Ribbon Reel is Clare's turn to host and she has chosen the beautiful inspiration photo for us all .....

...and ask that you create a card /project inspired by the COLOURS from the photo and also use FLOWERS.

Here is my card....

The colours for this challenge are just beautiful and I had so many ideas running through my head but with a busy schedule over the last week or so, I left my card until the last moment to create. I never like doing this as I always feel rushed and usually am not happy with the results! I'm tempted (if my busy day allows!) to create a second card.

I decided to thread some 8mm Yellow Double Satin ribbon through this beautiful 22mm White Crochet Lace, I love how this turned out! I added a peach seam binding bow and topped it with this pretty 25mm Pink/White Hybrid Tea Rose.

LinkI was inspired by the little teacup in the inspiration photo and couldn't resist using my WMS stamps. I stamped the teacup on to white cardstock and coloured the details with promakers. The sweet sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the rest of TRR design team's creations.

Supplies used:
Ribbons - 22mm White Crochet Lace, Peach Seam Binding, 8mm Yellow Satin from the ribbon reel
Flowers - 25mm Light Rosy Baby Pink from the ribbon reel
Stamps - WMS
Other - Heart Doily from stash

DCM October Flowers - Calendula

Can you believe we are in October already, how quick the months are flying by, before you know it we'll be celebrating Christmas and the New Year!

A new month, a new flower challenge over at the Daring Cardmakers Challenge blog. The birth flowers for October are Calendula or Cosmos. I'll have to admit that I didn't have a clue what either of these looked like so had to google images of them.

Here is my card....

I went with Calendula, as although both flowers look like they usually have daisy shape petals, the Cosmos are mostly orange or red but the Calendula come in pink!

I dug out my daisy punch for this flower, punched 3 daisies and stuck them together, adding a button and twine as the centre. I hope this passes for a Calendula?!

I used MME Lost & Found Blush papers, these are just gorgeous. I love the bright pink in this card! I recently bought some stamps and have only just got them out to use. The sentiment is from Roses in Bloom stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the gorgeous cards by the DCM DT!
