Jingle Bell Bauble

I bought these clear baubles last year with the intention of decorating them but, just ran out of time to pick them up. Then I saw that Fran (Purple Peanut's Crafty Blog) had shared one she had decorated on her blog and I was inspired to dig mine out and get creative. Here is one of the finished baubles.

I tried different variations with the strips of paper inside the bauble; thick, thin, tight curls, loose curls - then I settled for longer strips and let the paper naturally curl itself as it was placed inside. I finished the bauble by tying this beautiful blue silky crush bow with silver jingle bells and a little silver ribbon.

We just have one tree in the living room but I'm tempted to find a little mini tree to place in our tiny hall to hang my decorated baubles on.

Peace Tag WMS

I just love this colour combo and decided to make a little tag for a special gift. I used the Waltzingmouse Sketch this week and colours are from The Ribbon Reel challenge.

I handcut the tag from kraft cardstock and layered with papers from MME. The peace sentiment is from the WMS set. The small white rose trim and bLinkutton is Tim Holtz and the silky crush and ivory button twine is May Arts from the ribbon reel.

Christmas Stockings TSTR & WMS

I'm so behind with my Christmas cards at the moment, decided to make another quick one tonight and take part in a few challenges that I've not found time for recently.

I love this cute little dog, all snuggled up in his Christmas stocking! I know exactly who will receive this card.

I put this card together really quickly and based it on the sketch over at WMS this week. It also ties in with TSTR challenge too!

TRR Challenge #17 'Shabby Holiday Wonder'

Well, we are on our last challenge before the Christmas holidays over at The Ribbon Reel and it is Debbie's turn to host the challenge for this fortnight. Debbie has chosen this beautiful shabby photo for inspiration....

...and ask that you create a card /project inspired by the photo and use
CREAM or WHITE, AQUA or BLUE and SILVER
.

Here's my card...

Sometimes, things don't always go how you had them planned but I went with the flow and this is my card. I decided to add white paint to the paper edges to keep it shabby.

The snowflake sentiment was made with the 'Joy, Peace, Love' mini clear stamp and inked with grey ink. I added some glossy accents and highlighted with image with a little glamour dust.

I pleated some white silky crush ribbon, layered with the white snowflake cut out ribbon, 3mm silver velvet and some lush avalanche white pom pom trim! I may have gone a little overboard with all the ribbons on this card but love how it has turned out.

Don't forget to check out the Design Team's projects for some great Christmas inspiration.

Challenges entered:
Totally Gorjuss - #110 Let it snow
The Pink Elephant - #128 Snowflakes & Sparkles
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - #142 Christmas Glitz

Supplies used:
Cardstock - MME Everyday Flair
Ribbons - 2" white silky crush, 3mm silver velvet, avalanche white pom pom trim, white snowflake ribbon from the ribbon reel
Stamp - Joy, Peace, Love Clear Mini Stamp from the ribbon reel
Other - Picot Edge Doily Nestie from the ribbon reel

Delicious Chocolate Fudge!

I have wanted to make fudge since last year and decided at long last to have a go. I opted for chocolate fudge, not a favourite of mine, but I knew the boys would eat it.

The reason its taken me so long to make any, is I was always put off with the whole testing the temperature with a thermometer, but this was such an easy recipe to follow, and no need for thermometers and testing!

I couldn't find the right size cake tins so improvised with the ceramic dishes instead. It didn't take very long to set (probably due to the colder weather we are now getting), although I did pop into the fridge which seemed to set it.

Once it had sat for a couple of hours, I was able to cut into squares. Naturally, we all munched on the off cuts! The rest of the fudge is now stored in kilner jars, although I doubt it will last very long!

Might attempt vanilla fudge next week (my favourite!).

DCM - December Flowers, Holly & Narcissus

As it's the first dare of the month, we have our "Flowers of the Month" challenge over at the Daring Cardmakers this week - but of course December's flowers brings the series to an end - we do hope you've enjoyed and felt inspired by the theme. Next year we're starting a whole new Monthly Challenge Theme - so watch out for that at the start of January!

December's flowers are:
Holly and Narcissus

we'd like you to make a card taking your inspiration from either of these - we think we know which will be the most popular already.....;-)

So here is my card....

We recently added some new Holly & Berries to the shop and I knew I wanted to use these on my Holly card. I decided to use a darker red paper to match the berries and of course the 'holly' sentiment too. I kept an aged look to the card and distressed the edges and label with ink.

Supplies used:
Cardstock - Fancy Pants Saint Nick
Ribbon - Rancho Red Seam Binding, Cherry Red Bakers Twine from The Ribbon Reel
Stamps - WMS Say It Loud Winter Holidays
Ink - Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, Staz On Timber Brown
Other - Paper Doily, Holly & Berries from The Ribbon Reel
