DCM 'The House That Jack Built'

It's Friday...and that means a new challenge over at Daring Cardmakers.  This week is Kathy's turn to set the dare and she has chosen....

'The House That Jack Built'

so let's your house theme cards, whether its a house, door, window, roof etc., as long as it's connected to a house.

Here's my card.....

I decided to CASE one of my teamies cards for this challenge.  Nat created a beautiful card a few weeks ago (you can see it here) which I just loved and knew I'd have to re-create it one day.  I used my PTI house die and sentiment to create this card.  The red heart is popped up on mini foam dot so is the sentiment.  I added a little bit of Teal Bakers Twine under the sentiment.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Team cards for some great inspiration.

Crafty Templates July

I've been playing around with the new July design kits from Crafty Templates.  There were so many to chose from but I opted for these....

My first card used the Watermelon Slice template.

These are super cute images and I knew exactly what sentiment I was going to use for this card. I printed the images out and coloured with Promarkers and then cut them out.

I printed out the sentiment from my computer then cut out using my oval nesties.  I used a WMS stamp to create the delicate border.  I added a seam binding bow which I sprayed with water and scrunched to create a more crinkled look.  I finished with a little red spotty button!

Challenges: Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes

For my second, I used the Sunshine Badge template....

This was such a fiddly project to work on.  I had decided to use the template as the central image and then use my PTI dies to create the base of the badge/rosette.  I thought I'd have a go at using ribbon to add around the outside.  Oh my, this was very fiddly to do, the ribbon kept coming unstuck so I ended up taking the ribbon off and starting again - still with difficultly though.   I used the 'tails' template to create the ribbon tails, although I trimmed them a little thinner so that they would fit inside the width of the ribbon.  I added the words '1st Place' but could have used 'Best Dad' or similar.

TRR Challenge #33 'Button It'

We have another fun and exciting fortnightly challenge!  It's Pauline's turn to host this week and she has chosen this fabulous inspiration photo .....

and ask that you create a card / project using BUTTONS and RIBBON / TWINE!

Here's my card....

I had so many ideas of how to use buttons on my card, too many in fact and ended up only using two! I decided I wanted to use this cute Greeting Farm image which I coloured with Promarkers and added an ivory cotton button to her hair band.

I used my PTI dies to cut the circles and layered over a blue grid little bitty bag. I added some button twine around the base of the bag and tied into a small bow. The sentiment is from WMS which I stamped, cut out and added over my circles. Please check out the rest of the cards from the DT for some great inspiration this week!

TRR Challenge #32 Sweet Sparkles

Welcome friends to another fun fortnightly challenge at The Ribbon Reel this fortnight! It's Fran's turn to host this week and she has chosen this fab inspiration photo....

...and ask that you create a card / project using the COLOURS in the photo USING a 'HEART', SPARKLE plus LACE or RIBBON!

Here is my card....

These were such beautiful colours to work with, and who doesn't love using hearts and a little sparkle!  I decided to go with this gorgeous PTI Cupcake inspired from the photo.  I added the sentiment from the same PTI set.  The papers are from MME Be Happy.

The cupcake is paper pieced from scraps in my stash, then embellished with a medium pink candy stripe button (although I flipped the button over to use the plain pink side) and added a row of ivory pearls.  I tucked a paper doily behind it.

I added the ivory lace and pearl trim along with this gorgeous faux silk ribbon (I love this ribbon), tied a pretty bow and used some of my new heart pins.

Please check out the stunning cards from the rest of the Design Team girls and pop over an say 'hi' to Michelle Bala who is our Guest Designer this month!

DYSU #79 Red

There is a new challenge up over at DYSU this week and I'm excited to have been invited as a Guest Designer.  The challenge this week is to use RED on your projects.  They have some fabulous sponsors this week including The Ribbon Reel!

Here is my card....

I knew I had the perfect image for this challenge and couldn't wait to colour it.  I just love the images from A Day for Daisies - they are such a joy to use.  I coloured my image with Promarkers.  I added a little natural crochet lace and red sheer box pleat ribbon from The Ribbon Reel across the bottom of the card.  The 25mm red roses, iced lime seam binding and red pearl pins finish the card, all from The Ribbon Reel.  Oh and I've been wanting to use my new cotton buttons for ages and popped a red one to the top corner of the card.

Please pop over and take a look at the DYSU Design Team cards.  Perhaps you'll feel inspired to join in this week and be in with a chance to win a £10 Voucher to spend at The Ribbon Reel on some of the beautiful ribbons, flowers or pins they have in stock.

Supplies used:-
Cardstock -  CC Tea for Two from The Ribbon Reel
